The links below contain additional information about the Word Web Vocabulary program:

Word Web Vocabulary not only provides for a variety of learners in one classroom by presenting six learning levels for its Web Words but also allows for students in a span of grades to use the same materials.

Learning Levels:

Learning Levels range from Beginner through Challenging and are designated by color and shape-coded symbols. It will be up to teachers, working with students and parents, to decide at which level each student should work. Quite likely, those who start at the beginner level will move up during the year. Teachers and parents should encourage lazy students to work at their highest level, although this may vary from lesson to lesson.

Consider These Facts:

  • Teachers, as well as parents, know that it is difficult to peg any lesson to one particular grade level
  • It is equally tricky to decide what will or will not be of interest to any one child
  • Students often may become engrossed with material that some would say was "too old" or "too advanced" for them
  • Hard and fast rules seldom correlate learning to age or grade
  • Many texts are often inappropriate for the grade for which they were designed because students in different settings (private or public schools, large or small, inner city or suburban) vary greatly
  • Once in a while, one root word may be rather easy for everyone in the class; another may prove difficult for all what students gain in these lessons is seeing the relationship of a group of words to one root, prefix or suffix. Often these prove to be quite amazing
