Do You Teach Children Who Display Gifted And Talented Abilities? If So, You Should Be Using Word Web Vocabulary With Them! Find Out Why!
Although we designed Word Web Vocabulary to meet a variety of students' interests and abilities and to broaden their knowledge of the English language, we have provided for those who have enjoyed the highest level of learning, especially in their vocabulary.
For example, those who take music lessons may already know that a quaver is an eighth note and that hemi-, demi-, and semi- are synonyms for one-half. Therefore, they are much more likely to do the arithmetic of 1/8 x 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2, the equal to 1/64, to show the length of a hemi-demi-semi-quaver. However, most teachers wouldn't expect all their students to understand this, which is why we provide words that ascend to levels of difficulty.
Teachers know that all students need to be challenged by their work, whether it's at the beginner's level or at a more difficult one. Students who have proven themselves to be gifted and talented in the area of language will enjoy the demands that Word Web's challenges present to them. Just as we provide lessons for beginning learners, we have chosen to challenge students to utilize their abilities at the highest level possible.
